Bamako to host "Les Voix de Bamako"

Bamako, Mali (PANA) – National and international artistes are expected to participate in the Fourth International Women's Festival in the Malian capital, Bamako, dubbed "Les Voix de Bamako", from 19 to 23 January next year organisers told PANA on Wednesday.

This edition of the festival, the first to dedicated to women, is being organized by a Malian women’s association called Kolomba Cultural Association and its partners.

The programme includes a play by the Malian national theatre called "L’épopée mandingue", several shows led by artistes such as the visually handicapped couple Amadou and Mariam, as well as African artistes such as Guinean Sayon Camara and Assok group of Morocco.

A workshop on dancing will be led by Kettly Noël, director of the international festival “Danse Bamako Danse” and Abdou Fall.

Mrs Jacqueline Urbain Dembélé, director of an NGO defending the interests of housewives, would lead a debate on "Women and Immigration”.
