Bamako to host 14th Conference of Francophone Union of Internal Auditors in October

Bamako, Mali (PANA) - Bamako, the Malian capital, will host the 14th Conference of the Francophone Union of Internal Auditors from 10 to 11 October.

Leaders of the Association of Controllers, Inspectors and Auditors of Mali told a press conference on Monday that more than 400 professionals are expected in Bamako to discuss sub-themes such as administrative management during the crisis period, terrorism, health crises.

According to the Association, the objectives of the meeting are, among others, to understand and promote internal auditing in Mali, provide answers to the multifaceted challenges facing internal auditing today, sensitise the high authorities on the contribution of internal auditing to good governance and the creation of internal auditing services in public structures.

The aim is also to encourage auditors, both in the private and public sectors, and to allow aspiring auditors to demonstrate their skills by enrolling in a process of obtaining a professional qualification, and to contribute to restoring the image of the country through the organisation of such an international event.

Some 20 speakers from Mali, the countries of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU), Switzerland, France, the United States, Morocco and Tunisia will lead the plenary sessions and workshops scheduled.

Formed in 1988, on the initiative of the French Institute of Internal Audit and Control (IFACI), the French-speaking Union of Internal Audit aims to promote and develop the professional practice of internal auditing in French-speaking or partially French-speaking countries, by bringing together the associations of internal auditors of these countries.
