The ACFTA agreement ratified last April will cover a market of 1.2 billion people for an estimated gross domestic product (GDP) of $2.5 billion.

The African Import and Export Bank (Afreximbank) has set up an adjustment facility of US$1 billion to support African countries in the operational phase of the ACFTA.
