Algerian President to attend Sochi Summit in Russia

Algiers, Algeria (PANA) - Algerian President Abdelkader Ben Salah left Algiers for Russia on Tuesday to take part in the first Russia-Africa summit in Sochi, said a statement issued by the Presidency of Algeria.


President Ben Salah is accompanied by  Foreign Minister Sabri Boukadoum,  Finance minister Mohamed Loukal and Energy minister Mohamed Arkab.

 

According to the same statement, the Sochi Summit, scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, will be devoted to the global assessment of relations and the examination of ways and means and prospects for partnership and cooperation in the various fields between African countries and Russia, which maintains historical, solid and strategic relations with Algeria.


Two events will mark this Summit: the economic forum that opens on Wednesday and the conference at the Summit of Presidents and Heads of State scheduled for Thursday.
