Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - The President of the Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord in Libya, Fayez Al-Sarraj, met Friday in his residence in Istanbul with the Ambassador of the United States of America in Turkey, David Satterfield, during which they discussed developments in Libya and the Security Council resolution on the establishment of a ceasefire.

"The meeting also discussed the need to adhere to United Nations Security Council resolution 2510 for the year 2020, which strengthens the results of the Berlin Conference and provides for a number of decisions, including cessation of hostilities and protection of civilians", according to a press release from his Media Office.

The resolution of the Security Council adopted unanimously by its members with the exception of Russia which abstained, stipulates the establishment of a ceasefire as soon as possible and without conditions and endorses the conclusion of the Berlin Conference on the commitment to respect the embargo, the non-interference of countries in the affairs of Libya and on the abstention from carrying out acts likely to lead to military escalation in the country.
