Air traffic resumes at Maitigua airport in Tripoli after short suspension

Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - Flights and air trafficking resumed Thursday evening at Maitigua airport, east of Tripoli, after a short suspension earlier in the day due to a bombardment, the  airport’s management said.

It said the airport would receive two flights from the Turkish capital, Istanbul, and Amman in Jordan.

In a publication, the Maitigua airport said: "With the help of God, the planes of the airlines Libyan Wings and Libyan Airlines will land at the international Maitigua airport from Istanbul and Amman airport".

The flights were once again suspended on Thursday at Maitigua airport, which was targeted by a bombardment.

Maitigua airport, the only airport in service in the Libyan capital, is regularly the target of bombardments which have intensified after the launching of the military offensive on 4 April against Tripoli by the forces of Marshall Khalifa Haftar, commander of the Libyan national army (LNA).
