Abidjan launches Metro project

Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso (PANA) - The French Minister of Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty, Bruno Le Maire, on Monday launched the Abidjan Metro project, which will benefit, in terms of mobility, millions of users, an official source said.

"Today (Monday) marks the concrete start of the achievement of this great infrastructure project which is the Abidjan Metro. I wanted to be present for this launch," said Bruno Le Maire, during the audience granted to him by the Ivorian Prime Minister, Patrick Achi. "This ambitious project is also a social project that will benefit millions of inhabitants of Abidjan. It will also contribute to the influence of Côte d'Ivoire in general and to the brotherhood that unites France and Côte d'Ivoire."

Mr. Achi said this win-win project is a major axis of the President's "Vision 2030" programme, which aims to double the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita by 2030 and to build a more united Côte d'Ivoire.
