Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire (PANA) - The President of the National Congress of the Ivorian People (CNPI), Dr. Abass Yaya Bamba, on Wednesday announced his candidacy for the presidential election scheduled for October 2020 in Côte d'Ivoire.
During a press conference in Abidjan, the economic capital, he justified his candidacy as being for "his love for Côte d'Ivoire and his desire to offer Ivorians the means of resilience in the face of the dangerous deteriorating national political situation".
He promised his countrymen significant changes in the cultural, social, health, educational, political and economic fields.
He estimated his campaign's budget for the presidency at 3 billion CFA francs, vowing not to use the 100 million CFA francs the state makes available to candidates to campaign. (US$1.00=CFAF600.00)
