AU Summit: Sudanese prime minister confers with UN Secretary General

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (PANA) – The UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has met with Sudanese Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdouk on the margins of the African Union (AU) Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where the two are present.

The UN said in a press release that the Secretary-General and the Prime Minister discussed Sudan's ongoing political transition, the peace process and the transition from peacekeeping to peacebuilding in Darfur.

“The Secretary-General commended Prime Minister Hamdouk for the ongoing reform efforts and pledged the United Nations' full support to Sudan,” the press release received by PANA in Khartoum said.
