77th UN General Assembly: Chairman of Libyan Council reaffirms importance of coordinating positions of Arab countries

Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - The chairman of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohamed al-Manfi, has stressed the need to strengthen the mechanisms of joint action to coordinate the positions of Arab countries on the most important issues in the region during the 77th session of the UN General Assembly.

He made the call during a consultative meeting of Arab foreign ministers that he chaired on Monday at the Libyan Mission headquarters in New York, together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the National Unity Government, Najla al-Mangouch, a statement of the Presidential Council said.

Earlier, al-Manfi and the Secretary General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, reviewed the most important political and security issues in Libya.

They stressed their concern and commitment to follow up on everything that would support stability in Libya to achieve elections as soon as possible.

This was during a meeting between al-Manfi and Gheit on the sidelines of the 77th regular session of the UN General Assembly in New York, the same source said.

Earlier on Monday, al-Manfi participated in the work of the two UN summits on education and sustainable development on the sidelines of the 77th regular session of the UN General Assembly, in the presence of several presidents, leaders and kings of the world.
