250 Tunisians stranded in Libya to be repatriated

Tunis, Tunisia (PANA) - A group of 250 Tunisians will be repatriated Wednesday from Libya via the border post of Ras Jedir, Tunisian security sources said here Tuesday.

According to the sources, all security and health arrangements are guaranteed for the exercise.

Coordination with the Libyan party is also ensured to accelerate their repatriation and transfer to the centers for obligatory health confinement established in several Tunisian regions.

The repatriation of the 250 Tunisians will be followed by other operations, said the sources without specifying the exact date for those operations.

Tunisian minister of Interior Hichem Mechichi had on 22 April said that the Tunisian authorities had repatriated 3,600 Tunisians who were stranded in Libya.

He had said that all repatriated were submitted to strict health controls and quarantine.

Tunisia on 22 March took measures, including the closure of borders and general health confinement to stop the spread of the new coronavirus (Covid-19) disease.
