2023 AFCON: Cote d'Ivoire beat Nigeria 2-1 to lift trophy

Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire (PANA) - Hosts Cote d'Ivoire on Sunday came from behind to beat Nigeria 2-1 and win the 2023 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) trophy in the final match played at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Abidjan.

Captain William Troost-Ekong's header in the 38th minute gave Nigeria the lead.

However, the hosts levelled through Franck Kessie's header in the 62nd minute with an assist from Simon Adingra.

Sebastien Haller scored in the 81st minute when he tapped in from another cross from Adingra to give Cote d'Ivoire their third trophy.
