2021 AFCON: Equatorial Guinea stun defending champions 1-0 in Group E Match

Duala, Cameroon (PANA) - Equatorial Guinea produced the first real shock in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament when they stunned defending champions Algeria 1-0 in their Day 2 Group E match played at  Stade Japoma in Douala.

Obiang Obono Esteban produced the vital goal in the 70th minute to sink Algeria and keep them guessing whether they can qualify for the next stage.

Cote d'Ivoire lead the group with 4 points, Equatorial Guinea have 3, Sierra Leone have 2 and Algeria 1.
