2019 AFCON: Egypt beat Uganda 2-0 to top group; DR Congo hammer Zimbabwe 4-0 to boost chances

Cairo, Egypt (PANA) - Egypt made it 3 wins out of 3 matches as they beat Uganda 2-0 in their final Group A match in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations tournament while DR Congo gave themselves some hope of reaching the next round with an emphatic 4-0 drubbing of Zimbabwe.

Mo Salah (36th) and Ahmed El Mohamady (45th) were on target as the hosts collected all nine points at stake at the group stage.

Meanwhile, Jonathan Bolingi (4th), Cedric Bakambu (34th, 65th) and Britt Assombalonga (78th) scored for DR Congo as they made light work of Zimbabwe.

The results mean Egypt have 9 points, Uganda have 4 points, DR Congo, who lost their first 2 opening matches, have 3 points while Zimbabwe ended with 1 point.
