18th Summit of ECCAS leaders takes place November by video conference

Brazzaville, Congo (PANA) - The 18th  Ordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) will be held in November by video conference, Gabonese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Pacôme Moubélé Boubeya, announced on Monday in Brazzaville after a meeting with Congolese President Denis Sassou Nguesso.

The meeting was the opportunity for the envoy of President Ali Bongo Ondimba to present to the Congolese Head of State, the ECCAS Commission President, Gilberto da Piedade Verissimo, who took office on August 31, as a result of the revised community treaty.

At the end of the November summit, the Gabonese foreign minister will hand over the chair of the ECCAS Council of Ministers to his Congolese counterpart, Jean-Claude Gakosso.

The 11 member states of ECCAS are: Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Rwanda, Chad and Sao Tome and Principe.
