Côte d'Ivoire reports its first case of Coronavirus

Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire (PANA) - The first case of a person infected with the coronavirus (COVID-19) in  Côte d'Ivoire was reported on Wednesday by theMinistry of Health and Public Hygiene.

According to an official statement, the infected subject is a 45-year-old man of Ivorian nationality who recently returned from Italy. He presented symptoms that were confirmed by an analysis following a rhinopharyngeal sampling.

He received rapid treatment at the infectious diseases department of the University Hospital Centre (CHU) of Treichville in Abidjan.
