The Leading Latin American Furniture Trade Show to be Held in Southern Brazil

BENTO GONCALVES, Brazil, October 23/PRNewswire/ --

From March 24 to 28, 2008, the most representative international trade
show in Latin America, now in its sixteenth edition, will take place in the
city of Bento Goncalves in southern Brazil. The event distinguishes Brazil as
a respectable furniture manufacturer in the international market.

The city of Bento Goncalves, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, is the
second-largest furniture export hub in the country and hosts the MOVELSUL
BRASIL furniture fair, a professional trade show exclusively for
manufacturers and buyers. Organized by the Furniture Industry association of
Bento Goncalves -- SINDMOVEIS -- the show's services are aimed at attracting
new business.

MOVELSUL is held in even-numbered years, and because it will take place
next year in March, it will showcase launches, an ideal event for shopkeepers
and importers to get to know trends and use of new raw materials. The first
Buyer's Project was held during MOVELSUL BRASIL, with the support of the
federal government, in which guest importers sat face-to-face with Brazilian
manufacturers to form partnerships by presenting their needs and profiles.

The traditional Salao Design Movelsul, an international furniture design
award aimed at the integration between the industry and design professionals,
is held during MOVELSUL BRASIL. This competition, open to Brazilian
companies, students and professionals from Latin America, the Caribbean and
European Union, has already received over 4,700 entries throughout its ten
editions. Cash awards for next year's edition will total R$100 thousand
(approximately US$ 50 thousand).

In addition to the quality of the furniture exhibited, another successful
aspect of the show is its location, as Bento Goncalves is located in Serra
Gaucha, home to the Italian colony in Brazil. Besides its unique landscape,
it has hospitable people, great leisure options and traditional restaurants
with typical cuisine.

The main buyers of Brazilian furniture are the United States, France, the
United Kingdom, Germany, Mexico, Spain and Argentina. The federal government
and entities that foster development of the furniture industry have long
invested in the sector. Today, the factories have the same infrastructure as
traditional furniture manufacturing countries, and manpower is prepared to
meet worldwide demand. For further information, please visit

The fair is sponsored by Satipel, Blum, Banco do Brasil and Sayerlack.
