Libya attends meetings of AU ministers of trade, industry, mining and tourism
Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - The Libyan Minister of Industry and Mines in the government of national unity, Ahmed Abu Heissa, Saturday took part in meetings of the ministers responsible for trade, industry, mining and tourism organized by the African Union (AU) held in the city of Malabo, capital of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea.
It was under the theme: "Improving Africa's commercial competitiveness through the development of tourism, industrial and mining resources".
At the opening of the two-day meeting, attended by representatives from 36 African countries, the Commissioner for Trade and Industry of the African Union Commission, Albert M. Muchanga, gave a speech in which he emphasized the enormous potential of the African continent, which must be properly exploited if the continent was to become an economic force capable of competing with other global blocs, according to a statement issued on Saturday by the Libyan Ministry of Industry.
He stressed that the industrial, mining, trade and tourism sectors are considered essential for the continent's development.
