Ivorian singer Aicha Kone prays for peace at home

Cotonou- Benin (PANA) -- Ivorian diva Aicha Kone has called for divine intervention for the urgent return of peace to her country, torn apart by civil war since September 2002.
"I will pray to God the Almighty, Allah and his prophets, and I am sure they can hear me, for peace to be finally restored in Cote d'Ivoire," the musician said here on television Tuesday.
She arrived in Cotonou Sunday to participate in the third Gospel and Roots Festival, initiated two years ago to foster ties between Africans and their kin in the Diaspora.
Kone, who impressed the public at the opening ceremony Monday, will stage a concert in Porto-Novo Wednesday, during which she will pay tribute to her "musical father", Cameroonian Manu Dibango, who is also attending to the festival.
