Ivorian president expected in South Africa on Wednesday for State visit

Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso (PANA) - The Ivorian President, Alassane Ouattara, is expected on Wednesday in South Africa for a four-day State visit at the invitation of his counterpart, Cyril Ramaphosa, to strengthen bilateral relations, the Ivorian Presidency has announced in a statement.

The visit comes after the one made by President Ramaphosa to Côte d'Ivoire from 1 to 3 December 2021.

The statement said the Ivorian head of state will hold talks on Friday with his host in Pretoria on bilateral as well as regional and international issues.

President Ramaphosa and President Ouattara are expected to witness the signing of a number of agreements and address a South Africa - Côte d’Ivoire Business Forum. 

On Friday, the Ivorian president will be the guest at a dinner offered by his host and on Saturday visit Robben Island prison, where Nelson Mandela, the hero of the anti-apartheid struggle, spent 18 of his 27 years in prison.
