Italian foundation invests US$ 150,000 in Angolan district's AIDS projects

Lubango, Angola (PANA) - An Italian foundation, Marco Di Martino, in the last three years, has  invested US$ 150,000 for HIV/AIDS awareness campaign projects in the southern Huíla Province, Angola, the institution’s coordinator in Angola, Aldo Di Clemente, disclosed here Wednesday.

Di Clemente said in a chat with Angola's news agency, ANGOP, that the project was part of a cooperation protocol signed between the provincial governments of Huíla (Angola) and Abruzo (Italy) in the health sector.

According to him, the amount was used by mobile clinics to organise trainings, sensitization and prevention, as well as voluntary tests in 14 districts of Huíla province.

The Marco Di Martino Foundation has been working in the Angolan province of Huíla for over eight years, operating in various social and economic areas.
