2 - ADDITIONAL FORMALITIES 

2-1      Tax return of existence 

Recipient administration service :

DGI,the competent Customs Centre. For large companies, the Department in charge of large companies, Cité Administrative ; Tour E, 12th floor,  Tel : 225 - 22 65 04 

Documents to furnish : 

a form of tax return of exsistence to obtain at the Direction des Rôles or at the tax office of the head office of the company, or from the Department  in charge of large companies. 

Cost :  FCFA 5,000 

Comments : 

The tax return of existence is primarly used to grant a tax payer’s number of account. This number is written on the duplicate of the tax return of existence provided to the company promoter after the payment of the trade licence.

 2-2      Registration  on the  home trade register 

The registration on the  home trade register concerns the companies whose activities relate to import. 

Recipient administrative service : Ministry in charge of home trade, Direction de la Concurrence et de la Consommation Immeuble CCIA, 14th floor 

Documents to furnish :  

In compliance with the enactment relating to the notice to importers and exporters N° 81-0018 of 13 Januarty, 1981 : 

·      two enquiry forms on home trade users to be obtained from the Direction de la Concurrence et de la Consommation.

·      a registration form in the Trade and Real Estate Register ;

·      a certification of tax return

·      the tax return of existence ,

·      a receipt for the payment of trade licence ;

·      a certificate of trade licence ;

·      a certificate of tax compliance.

·      a photocopy of the identity card or the  resident permit of the Manager

·      power signed and sealed by the company manager plus a photocopy of the identity card or the  resident permit of the bearer of the file

 

Documents to obtain :        

Import Code and Tax Code. The Tax Code is to be   renewned every year. 

Cost : CFAF 2,000

2-3      Registration  on the trade register

The registration with foreign trade office concerns the companies whose activities relate to import and/or export.

Recipient administration service :  

The Direction de l’Expansion Economique of the Ministry  in charge of Foreign trade ; Immeuble CCIA, 24th floor ; Phone : 225 21 08 85 / 21 65 35 

Documents to furnish :  

In compliance with the enactment relating to the notice to importers and exporters N° 81-0018 of 13 Januarty, 1981 : 

·      two enquiry forms on Foreign trade users to be obtained from the Direction de l’Expansion Economique and also available at CEPICI One-Stop -Shop ;

·      a registration form in the Trade and Real Estate Register ;

·      a certification of tax return

·      the tax return of existence ,

·      a receipt for the payment of trade licence ;

·      a certificate of trade licence ;

·      a certificate of tax compliance. 

Documents to obtain :        

Import Code and Tax Code. The Tax Code is to be  renewned every year. 

Cost :   CFAF 2,000 

2-4      Registration of the company at the national pension fund (CNPS) 

Recipient administrative service :

CNPS and all its agencies throughout the  territory (five agencies in Abidjan and 15 in   the inland). 

Documents to obtain :  Form for the employer’s registration 

Documents to furnish :

Form for the registration on the trade register and real estate register

Document to obtain :    CNPS employer’s number

Cost :      Free of charge

2-5      Staff declaration (local and foreign excluding diplomats and        international staff)

Recipient service :              

CNPS and all its agencies throughout the territory (five agencies in Abidjan and 15 in the inland).

Documents to furnish :          

form for the registration of each employee

One identity photograph

One birth certifcate or the copy of an identifying document

Documents to obtain :

a card for member of the national Insurance scheme with an administrative number for  the worker.

Cost : free of charge.

2-6      Capital inflows and outflows

 Recipient Administrative Service  :          

FINEX (external finance) Cité financière ,   10th floor

Documents to furnish :  

duly filled in forms obtained from the banksor from FINEX (external finance department).

Documents to obtain :    

Authorisation to transfer funds. This authorisation basically serves the purpose of statistical data keeping and  it is easily  obtained.

Cost :    Free of charge.
