Zambian woman arrested with heroin pellets in Mauritius

Plaisance, Mauritius (PANA) - The Customs Anti-Narcotics Section of the Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA) on Saturday arrested a 26-year-old Zambian woman with 55 heroin pellets upon her arrival at the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam international airport, Plaisance, in the south of the island.

In a communiqué released Wednesday, the MRA said the Zambian national revealed that she had equally swallowed 16 pellets and she purged same at the hospital.

It also indicated that the passenger and her belongings were handed over to the Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit (ADSU) for further inquiry.
