Zambian president off to Beijing for China-Africa Forum

Lusaka, Zambia (PANA) – Zambian President Edgar Lungu has left for Beijing, China, to attend the 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) to be held from 1-4 September.

He will also hold a series of consultations with Chinese President Xi Jinping and top officials.

Presidential Spokesperson Amos Chanda told journalists in Lusaka that President Lungu’s first engagement would be a bilateral summit with President XI for discussion on a broad-range of economic deals between China and Zambia.

President Lungu is expected to deliver a keynote address at the Zambia-China Investment Forum on 2 September. He will attend the China-Africa forum on 3-4 September along with other African Heads of  State and Government.

The Zambian leader will use the last two days of his visit to tour Jiangxi Province where he will witness the twinning of the Province with Zambia’s Muchinga Province.
