Yamoussoukro to host ECOWAS mini-summit

Abidjan- Cote d'Ivoire (PANA) -- Six leaders are expected to attend a mini-summit of the Economic Community of West African States Monday in Yamoussoukro, Cote d'Ivoire's political capital.
According to a statement issued by the president's office in Abidjan Saturday night, the meeting, initiated by President Laurent Gbagbo, will be attended by the presidents of Nigeria, Senegal, Togo, Cape Verde and Ghana.
Although officially the African leaders are supposed to discuss ways and means to enhance regional economic integration, other reliable sources said they would also examine the possible involvement of ECOWAS leaders in the forthcoming Ivorian national reconciliation forum, scheduled to begin on 9 October in Abidjan.
