Lagos- Nigeria (PANA) -- Fans of Nigeria's Super Eagles have pleaded with the tea m to make them proud when they engage South Korea in the last game of the Group B at the on going World Cup in South Africa Tuesday.
The fans contended that the Super Eagles must show urgency in their approach to the game, because they want the team to qualify for the second round of the comp e tition.
A freelance photo journalist, Norbert Okolie, said from Enugu, South-eastern Nig eria, that Nigerians expected nothing but a good game which will culminate in a v ictory that will lead to the team's qualification.
''We are begging them to make us proud.
They should beat South Korea.
Let us do our bit first before hoping for Argentina to do us a favour by defeating Greece, ' ' Olaleye Dada, who anchors a sports programme on television in Lagos, said.
''I don't care how they play.
All I want is a resounding victory against South K orea.
That is what will make me believe that we still have a good team,â? Dada s aid.
A student of the University of Abuja, in Nigeria's capital city, Becky Onosigho, said she was eagerly waiting for the game and remained confident of a good resu l t.
''All I want to say is that these boys should make us forget the bad result agai nst Greece.
I know they can do it and we are going to play in the second round o f the World Cup,'' she said.
Sunday Alabi said he would truly forgive the Super Eagles if they beat South Kor ea and move to the next stage of the World Cup.
''I will forget what happened against Greece when they do well against South Kor ea.
They should please beat the Korean side and make us continue to watch the World Cup,'' Alabi said.
Nigeria faces an uphill task in advancing from group B, having lost its past two games, 1-0 to Argentina and 2-1 to Greece.
The Super Eagles will have to beat the Koreans well and hope that Argentina will hand down a resounding defeat to Greece.
