Accra- Ghana (PANA) – Ghana's President John Evans- Atta Mills has predicted a "handsome" win for the Blacks Stars over Uruguay in Friday's quarter-final clash at the FIFA 2010 World Cup tournament in South Africa.
Speaking on Monday on arrival from South Africa where he watched the Black Stars beat the USA 2-1 last Saturday, he said if the national team would be determined to continue to perform creditably, acquaint themselves with the rules of the game, remain disciplined, committed and dedicated as a playing body, victory would be theirs.
"They have played very well; they are aiming higher and are aspiring to do honours for their country," he said.
He said the playing body was in shape for Friday's duel with Uruguay and that the Black Stars would pay their dues.
President Mills called on Ghanaians to continue to pray for and support the Blacks Stars till the curtain of the 2010 FIFA World Cup is brought down.
He said government's support for the national team was total and would continue to ensure that their stay in South Africa remained fruitful.
