Veep Al-Lafi ends ends visit to Central African Republic

Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - The vice president of the Libyan Presidential Council, Abdallah al-Lafi, Wednesday concluded his official visit to the Central African Republic, an official source said here.

Al-Lafi met with President Faustin Archange Touadera and several government officials, and co-chaired a meeting on Libyan investments.

The meeting discussed the problems facing Libyan investments, ways to develop solutions to the violations they have suffered in recent years, and coordination with the Central African government to enable legitimate representatives to manage and protect these investments, in accordance with agreements between the two countries.

It would be noted that Libya has significant investments in various African countries under the former regime in agriculture, hotels, petrol stations and telecommunications.

However, during the 17 February 2011 revolution, several countries seized some of these investments, hence the efforts of the Libyan executive authorities to recover them and continue to make them work for the benefit of Libya and African countries.

President Touadéra stressed the importance of preserving these investments for the benefit of the Libyan state, which has maintained solid cooperation with his country for many years.
