Van Der Linde wins South Africa production car races

Cape Town- South Africa (PANA) -- Shaun van der Linde, driving his Van Der Linde Racing BMW 328i, won rounds 7 and 8 of the Midas Production Car Championship at the weekend in Killarney, Cape Town, securing a slender one-point lead in the overall Drivers' Championship.
Van Der Linde recorded the fastest lap time even though he had to carry an extra 60 kg of performance penalty mass due to his two wins at Kyalami in Johannesburg earlier this month.
His team mate Michael Briggs, driving car A16, qualified in second position just one tenth of a second ahead of Reghard Roets in his Kaye-Eddie Estates BMW.
Hometown boy, Steve Wyndham, in his 4-litre Ford Fairmont rounded off the top four places on the grid.
The top four positions on the grid were covered by less than one second, the closest it has been since the start of the season.
Shaun van der Linde assumed the overall lead of the Midas Production Car Drivers' Championship from Cor Kraamwinkel and Stephen Taylor.
The next round of the Championship will be held in East London on 23 June.
