UNMISS partners for peaceful New Year

Juba, South Sudan (PANA) – The holiday spirit came to life in the South Sudanese capital, Juba, on Thursday when the Outreach team from the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) went on a special mission to spread end-of-year holiday season greetings.

The team paid surprise visits to the partners it has worked with to promote peace throughout 2017.

With a festively decorated van, a number of Santas toured around Juba, making stops to express their gratitude for the successful partnerships and to share some early holiday cheer.

UNMISS reported that the team visited the South Sudan Council of Churches, South Sudan Islamic Council, National Women Empowerment and Rehabilitation Organization, South Sudan Scouts and Girl Guides Association, South Sudan National Olympic Committee, Jubek State Legislative Assembly, Kuru Ko Wate Business Association, Confident Children out of conflict, University of Juba, Catholic University and Supiri Secondary School.

“All voices united around one message: Partners for a peaceful new year for everyone,” said the Mission on its website.
