UNHCR evacuates Guinean, Liberian refugees

Freetown- Sierra Leone (PANA) -- The United Nations High Commission for Refugees has evacuated 130 Liberians and Guineans from the Liberian-Sierra Leone Kailahun border town to Kenema in eastern Sierra Leone.
The group of 106 sick and vulnerable Liberians and 23 Guineans were evacuated at the weekend, according to a press statement Wednesday.
It explained that the most critical cases were given medical treatment at Kenema Government Hospital, while others were taken to a temporary settlement camp for returnees.
It was the second group of Guineans the UNHCR has assisted in this way in months.
