UN Security Council to discuss Angola Friday

Luanda- Angola (PANA) -- The UN Security Council would on Friday discuss the peace process in Angola, according to a despatch Thursday, of the Angolan Press Agency (ANGOP).
ANGOP said Friday's discussions are aimed at briefing the Council on the reports from the mechanism monitoring sanctions on the rebel UNITA movement.
It said the Security Council would, at the end of the session, pass a resolution defining the position of the UN on the peace process in Angola.
Secretary General Kofi Annan recommends that the Security Council extend the term of the UN Office in Angola (UNOA) for another six months up to 15 April 2002.
