UN: UN agency, BMW Group call for entries for Intercultural Innovation

New York, US (PANA) - The UN Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) and the Germany auto mobile
giant, BMW Group, are partnering for innovative and sustainable projects around the world that promote intercultural dialogue and understanding, as well as make vital contributions
to global peace and prosperity.

A UN statement obtained by PANA in New York on Wednesday, stated that the partnership will present the winners with the Intercultural Innovation Award.

It noted that 10 organizations with potential for expansion and replication will be awarded
funding and strategic support, stating that awardees will be announced at the 7th UNAOC
Global Forum holding in New York.

It called on interested individuals and organizations to visit interculturalinnovation.org to apply, saying that the deadline for applications is 30 September 2015.

The statement said the awardees will receive a monetary grant to use for expansion and
replication, with a first prize of US$40,000. It said that the awardees would be supported with expert advice for project-related assistance.

It said that during the support programme, awardees will have access to a pool of experts providing project-related assistance.

PANA learnt that the award includes a one-year support programme to increase effectiveness through training and capacity-building, and awardees will also become members of Intercultural Leaders, an exclusive community of change-makers.
