Ankara, Turkey (PANA) - Participants at the Turkey-Africa Media Forum which ended Thursday in Ankara, the Turkish capital, have agreed to establish a common platform to promote better media cooperation between Africa and Turkey.
The platform will not only help to ensure better communication between the media of Africa and Eurasia but will also strengthen consultations and defend the interest of the media, participants said in a joint statement.
The African and Turkish media professionals also agreed on the establishment of mechanisms to enable partners to easily access equipment and other materials needed for the development of African media industry.
The first Turkey-Africa Media Forum, which was held 9-10 May in Ankara, was organized by the Turkish Directorate General of Press and Information and sponsored by the Initiative for the African media.
The forum was attended by hundreds of journalists, opinion leaders, media experts, academics and politicians from Turkey and Africa.
It is aimed at establishing dialogue and forging a strong partnership between the African and Turkish media.
