Tunisia condemns desecration of Jerusalem Mosque

Tunis- Tunisia (PANA) -- Tunisia has condemned Sunday's desecration of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem by a group of suspected Jewish extremists, describing the action as "serious provocation" and an "attack on Muslim feelings".
"Tunisia strongly condemns such serious acts of provocation which represent a blatant attack against the sanctuaries of Islam and a against Muslim feelings," a statement by the Foreign Ministry said in Tunis Monday.
It said the desecration of the sacred Al-Aqsa Al- Sharif Mosque, Islam's third holiest place, could lead to "dangerous escalation" of the Israeli-Palestine conflict.
An attempt by a group of "Temple Mount Faithful" to lay a foundation stone for a new temple near the Al-Aqsa Mosque, provoked the wrath of Palestinians Sunday, fuelling the renewed Middle East crisis that has killed more than 600 people in the last 10 months, mainly Palestinians.
Tunisia reaffirmed its support for and solidarity with the Palestinian people in their "struggle to recover all their legitimate national rights" and called on the international community to "force Israel to end its aggression and repeated acts of provocation".
