Tunisia: Tunis-Carthage airport closed to Libyan planes from 5-25 December

Tunis, Tunisia (PANA) – The Tunisian authorities have decided to close the Tunis-Carthage International airport to the Libyan planes from 5 December to 25 December.

Libyan planes would be diverted to the Sfax airport, at 270 kms south of Tunis, according to a message sent to Libyan airlines by the Tunisian air traffic services.

The Tunisian national security council, chaired by president Béji Caïd Essebsi, decided to close Tunisia's border with Libya for 15 days from 29 November after the attack on the Tunisian presidential security guard on Mohamed V Avenue, in the centre of Tunis, killing 12 presidential security members and injuring 20 others.

Tunisia has said that Tunisian terrorists are trained and armed in Libya to undertake terrorist activities on its territory.
