Tunisia: AU condemns attacks on Tunisia, Egypt hotel

Tunis, Tunisia (PANA) – The African Union Commission chairwoman, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, has strongly condemned the two terrorist attacks perpetrators on a presidential security bus in Tunis and on a hotel in the city of Al-Arich in the Sinai peninsula in Egypt, which claimed the lives of many victims, according to a communiqué issued by the African Union (AU) on Thursday and received in Tunis.

"Those terrorist attacks should strengthen the cooperation between African countries in the domain of the fight against terrorism and extremism," a communique quoted the AU Commission chairwoman as saying.

She reaffirmed the support of the African Union to Tunisia and Egypt in their efforts on the fight against terrorism and extremism, adding that the attacks followed the rise in the rate of terrorism across the world, including the recent attacks in Mali and the terrorist operations perpetrated by Boko Haram against civilians and state institutions in the Lake Chad basin and those carried out by the Somalian movement, Al Shabab.
