Training in Ukraine of employees of Directorate for protection of diplomatic missions in Libya

Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - A training session has started in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, in the field of handling "explosive hazards and terrorist threats" for the benefit of employees of the General Directorate for the protection of diplomatic missions in Libya, the Libyan Ministry of Interior announced here Monday.

In a statement, the ministry said this training comes on the instructions of Interior Minister Khaled Mazen to increase the effectiveness of officers and non-commissioned officers of the General Directorate for them protection of diplomatic missions.

Embassies and diplomatic missions and international organizations have begun to gradually return to Tripoli after their departure in 2014 following the deterioration of security in the Libyan capital in the wake of clashes between rival armed groups.

With the inauguration of the new Interim Unified Executive Authority in Libya, the Presidential Council, and the Government of National Unity, in accordance with the roadmap of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum, Libya has regained stability and security.

In parallel, first aid training was held this morning at the headquarters of the General Directorate for the protection of diplomatic missions in Tripoli, under the supervision of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL).

The ministry of Interior said the course was aimed at a number of employees of the General Directorate during which they will learn basic first aid skills and how to conduct them, in addition to distinguishing the types of first aid.
