Toumani Toure, other leaders to attend African, Diaspora meet

Bamako- Mali (PANA) -- Malian President Amadou Toumani Toure is among leaders who will take part in the Conference of Intellectuals from Africa and the Diaspora which officially opens Thursday in Dakar, Senegal, a presidential communiqué said here.
The communiqué said the meeting, brokered by Senegalese President Abdoulaye Wade, will group 600 participants, including heads of states and governments, UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, Nobel Prize winners, academics and artists.
Under the aegis of the African Union, the meeting is themed "African Integration and Renaissance in the 21st century.
" A gala evening for Nobel Prize laureate to be attended by Annan and former South African Presidents Nelson Mandela and F.
W.
de Klerk as well as South African church leader Desmond Tutu will be held Wednesday in Dakar.
