Togo ratifies general convention on social security

Lome- Togo (PANA) -- Togo's National Assembly has adopted a bill authorising ratification of a Convention on social security between the governments of Togo and Mali, signed on 10 October 1996 in Bamako.
Parliament said the convention translates the two governments' will to protect the social security rights and interests of their nationals in each other's country.
It said that since Mali was not a member of the former Common African and Malagasy Organisation (OCAM), whose instruments were still in force, it was necessary to initiate the bilateral convention to protect migrant workers in both countries.
