Technical commission of anti-money laundering body meets in May

Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire (PANA) - The 17h plenary meeting of the technical commission of the Inter-government Action Group Against Money Laundering  (GIABA) will be held 2-5 May in Abidjan, the business capital of Côte d'Ivoire, a GIABA statement said.

The meeting will discuss threats and challenges related to money laundering and the financing of terrorism in the region.

During the meeting, GIABA Director General Abdullahi Shehu will present his report.

The meeting will also discuss the membership of Sao Tomé and Principe and the report on the trafficking of small and light weapons, among others.

GIABA is a specialized institution of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
