Sudanese University to award Khaddafi honorary degree

Khartoum- Sudan (PANA) -- The University of Juba, Sudan has decided to award Libyan leader Moammar Khaddafi an honorary doctorate in Political Science, the University announced Monday.
It said the degree was being awarded to Col.
Khaddafi for his service to Africa and the cause of peace and stability in Sudan.
"The degree comes in recognition of Khaddafi's worthwhile contributions to the well-being of Africa that materialised the launching of the Community of Sahelian and Saharan States and the African Union," the University said.
It acknowledged Khaddafi's efforts in the recent joint Libyan-Egyptian peace initiative at bringing peace to Sudan.
The University of Juba was launched in the city of Juba, South Sudan, in 1975 but owing to instability from civil war in the south the University was moved to Khartoum in 1986.
