Sudan asks EU, Troika to support South Sudanese peace negotiations

Khartoum, Sudan (PANA) - The Sudanese government has called on the European Union (EU) and the Troika countries (US, Britain and Norway) to offer the necessary support to the South Sudanese peace negotiations currently being held in Khartoum.

Sudanese Foreign Minister Dirdeiri Mohamed Ahmed made the call in Khartoum at a meeting with EU ambassadors and the Troika, giving the diplomats a detailed briefing on the progress of the negotiations by the South Sudanese rival parties.

The Sudanese Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the ambassadors appreciated the hosting of the peace negotiations by Sudan and expressed the wishes that the deal will succeed and enthrone peace in South Sudan.
