Star model Campbell supports Mandela Children's Fund

Johannesburg- South Africa (PANA) -- American star model Naomi Campbell is staging an international charity concert Saturday in Barcelona, Spain in support of the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund, named after South Africa's former President.
Sources close to the organisers said Thursday that Mandela, accompanied by 10 children from South Africa will attend the event, featuring musicians such as Elton John, Britney Spears and Wyclef Jean.
Also on the card is a fashion show by four top designers -- Versace, Alexander Mc Queen, Diesel and Ferre.
Campbell is said to have lined up several international models for the show, billed to be opened by children from Spain's hospital Sant Joan Deu and South African musician Max Mntambo, who will be singing the song "Lend a hand to the children.
" Campbell visited South Africa earlier this year to promote the event, which will also include a dinner in Mandela's honour at the Oval Palace in Montjuic.
The ageing Statesman has persuaded many South African businesses to assist in the building of more than 100 modern schools in rural areas.
The Children's Fund also assists disadvantaged South African children by funding their education.
