South African journalist wins Misa award

Johannesburg - South Africa (PANA) -- The Star's investigative reporter, Lynne Altenroxel has won the first Misa John Manyarara Investigative Journalism Award for her story which exposed kickbacks doctors were receiving for referring patients to certain labs.
She has been award 2000 Euro and fellowships worth 10,000 Euro, which she may use for research and study.
Misa will also publish her work in Holland, where the sponsors are based.
The award is named after retired Judge John Manyarara of Zimbabwe, who was the founder of Misa in 1992.
Altenroxel is in Namibia, where she received the award.
