Cape Town- South Africa (PANA) -- A South African court in Bloemfontein on Monday sentenced a white Sasolburg businessman to seven years imprisonment for of assaulting his black employee and dragging him behind his vehicle until he died.
The incident caused an outrage in the country with accusations flying the attack was racially motivated.
Piet Odendaal was earlier in the day found guilty of culpable homicide for causing the death of Mosoko Rampuru in August last year.
The Judge, AP van Coller, sentenced him to ten-years, three of which were suspended for four years.
