South Africa's Ambassador to Germany labelled "nigger"

Cape Town- South Africa (PANA) -- South Africa's Ambassador to Germany, Sibusiso Bengu, has flayed racists in Germany ahead of a one-day visit to Berlin by President Thabo Mbeki coming up Thursday.
The South African Press Association Wednesday quoted Bengu as saying he was deeply upset by the aggression aimed at foreigners.
"One of our black employees was almost killed in an attack and I am insulted in the streets as a nigger," he was quoted as saying.
Bengu, who noted that racism in Berlin was aimed at all foreigners but that blacks were easy to identify because of their skin colour, called for more police protection in the German capital.
Ironically, Mbeki last week devoted the majority of his speech in Parliament to the issue of racism "because the creation of a non-racial society is central to the historic task of building a new South Africa.
" Mbeki, who has spent the last two days discussing his Millennium Africa Recovery Programme (MAP) with US President George W.
Bush, is expected to discuss the same issues with Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder and President Johannes Rau.
