South Africa airline FlySafair to operate to 11 new destinations in southern African

Cape Town, South Africa (PANA) – South African airline FlySafair has received approval to operate flights to 11 new destinations in southern Africa.

The Air Services Licensing Council of South Africa has confirmed that it approved FlySafair's application to operate flights from Cape Town and Johannesburg to Gaborone, Livingstone, Luanda, Lusaka, Maputo, and Victoria Falls.

The airline has been approved for routes from Johannesburg to Bulawayo, Nairobi and the Seychelles. In addition, routes between Cape Town and Windhoek have been cleared.

Applications for routes between Johannesburg and Harare, Windhoek and Zanzibar, and additional frequencies to Mauritius are still being reviewed.

PANA reports that FlySafair has filled a gap after low-cost airline Comair filed for bankruptcy in June.

FlySafair has added four new aircraft to its current schedule with another due to be delivered in January.
