Sierra Leone: Opposition party HQ attacked

Freetown, Sierra Leone (PANA) - The headquarters of the Alliance Democratic Party (ADP) was set on fire in the early hours of Tuesday in Freetown, the Sierra Leonean capital.

Party Chair and Presidential candidate, Mohamed Kamaraimba Mansaray, told local media that two assailants were spotted throwing petrol bombs into the building. The alleged assailants are yet to be apprehended by the Police who are yet to comment on the matter.

Mansaray was a former member of the ruling All Peoples Congress. Upon his return from America in 2015, he left the party and formed the ADP. He has since been a very vocal critic of the Koroma-led government.

Attacks on opposition party structures in Sierra Leone are not new. A year ago, unknown group of people poured a large volume of human waste in one of ADP offices in the provinces.
