Seychelles' Rene greets new OIF chief

Saint Denis- Reunion (PANA) -- President France Albert Rene of Seychelles, has sent a goodwill message to former Senegalese leader, Abdou Diouf, who assumed office last week as new Secretary General of the International Francophonie Organisation (OIF).
In the message released by the Foreign Ministry, Rene extended his best wishes to Diouf.
He noted the "excellent relations" between Seychelles and OIF and reaffirmed his confidence in Diouf's capacity to boost the relations "in the perspective of a more dynamic and united Francophonie.
" The former Senegalese leader, who was elected to the post during the 9th OIF Summit in Beirut, Lebanon in October 2002, officially took over from the Egyptian Boutros Boutros-Ghali 2 January.
The Paris-based Francophonie Organisation, comprises 51 member States and five observer-nations.
